CODING TECHNOLOGIES TO UNVEIL LOW BIT RATE 5.1 MULTICHANNEL MPEG-4 aacPlus AT AES114 IN AMSTERDAM

COMPANY TO ALSO DEMO GPRS STREAMING AUDIO OVER MOBILE WIRELESS NETWORKS

Mountain View, CA, March 3, 2003 - Coding Technologies, the industry's leading provider of audio compression technologies for the mobile, digital broadcasting and Internet markets worldwide, announced today its exhibiting and reception line up at the AES114 in Amsterdam, March 22-25, 2003 at the RAI Conference and Exhibition Center, Booth 1902.

Coding Technologies' audio codec is used by XM Radio to achieve the highest quality audio in the smallest possible bandwidth for its digital audio channels and the recent European Broadcasting Union (EBU) Subjective Listening Tests on Low Bitrate Audio Codecs declared aacPlus(tm) from Coding Technologies to be the highest quality audio codec worldwide. Additionally, the MPEG organization is about to finalize standardization of the aacPlus technology in the International standard of MPEG-4 Audio in March.

Coding Technologies is unveiling 5.1 Multichannel MPEG-4 aacPlus for home cinema and high end audio playback which could be applied in digital TV, satellite, DVD or VOD services where aacPlus would serve as the audio codec for this audio environment.

At AES114, Coding Technologies will be demonstrating the following technologies:

- 5.1 Multichannel MPEG-4 aacPlus

- GPRS streaming audio over mobile wireless networks

- Audio coding at very low bit-rates

- Layer-2+SBR

In addition, Coding Technologies will also demonstrate real world applications including the first consumer grade DRM radio receiver incorporating aacPlus, as well as the XM Satellite Radio receiver that incorporates aacPlus, plus mp3PRO hard disc and flash memory players, and the Philips Streamium that features mp3PRO playback.

Coding Technologies will be hosting a daily happy hour at their booth, #1902, from 5:30pm-6:00pm to toast, taste and digest the latest information on the worlds best audio codec, the MPEG-4 aacPlus.

About Coding Technologies
Coding Technologies provides the best audio compression for mobile, broadcasting, and Internet. SBR(tm) (Spectral Band Replication) from Coding Technologies is a backward and forward compatible method to enhance the efficiency of any audio codec; putting the "PRO" in mp3PRO and the "Plus" in aacPlus. SBR is a fundamental enabler of the Digital Radio Mondiale open standard and is on track to become a core component of MPEG-4 Audio. Coding Technologies is a privately held company with offices in Sweden, Germany, and Silicon Valley. Founded in 1997 in Stockholm, the company later merged with a spin-off of the renowned Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, the inventor of MP3.
